About Us

Lawrence Buckley

I work as a commercial diver, public safety diver, regulator service technician, and former Disney diver. I’ve lived in Orlando FL for 18 years, and I have been solo traveling since 2016. My worst subject in school was writing, yet for some unknown reason here I am blogging my life away. I do my best to be a realist, so I try to convey that in anything I teach or write. I want the reader to know exactly what a place or situation is like, good or bad, before they ever get there.

Favorite Place I’ve Been:

I really enjoyed my time in Australia, but I think the most interesting place, and surprisingly most beautiful, is Vietnam. Riding a motor bike through the Hà Giang mountains, and a cruise through Ha Long Bay are two of the best things I’ve ever done.

Favorite Travel Tip:

Don’t make plans! Or at least as few as possible. Too many people get a few days in a country and fill every second with something to do. Then they are exhausted and they can’t change their plans when they find something that looks interesting to do.

Sadie Theis

I am a former Disney cast member, and entertainment management graduate of the University of Central Florida, Rosen College of Hospitality Management, in Orlando, Florida.

As a native Iowan, my past professional experience includes having worked at a local children’s theatre, Davenport Junior Theatre, in Davenport Iowa.

In January, 2016 I moved to Orlando, Florida for my Disney College Program. There I was “cast” in Quick Service Food and Beverage at The ABC Commissary in Hollywood Studios. Once my College Program ended I began working at Raglan Road Irish Pub in Disney Springs Orlando, Florida. I would continue to work with the Walt Disney World company from August 2016 until to December 2022 as a part time server at multiple locations on Disney property, including Raglan Road in Disney Springs, Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic Kingdom, Sanaa at Animal Kingdom Lodge, and Victoria Falls at Animal Kingdom Lodge.

I graduated from the Rosen College of Hospitality and Management with my bachelor’s of science degree in Entertainment Management at UCF in August, 2022.

And now we’re off! As an avid traveler I’ve been to 11 different countries and can’t wait to experience even more!

Favorite Place I’ve Been:

This is so hard because I like different places for different reasons. I’m going to have to go with Costa Rica, specifically La Fortuna with the view of Arenal Volcano. Nothing beats the Tabacon hot springs, and I will never forget how exhilarating white water rafting in class-four rapids was!

Favorite Travel Tip:

Take breaks! Be comfortable!! Travel should be fun and relaxing. I’ve made the mistake of packing “fashionable” outfits that were totally non-practical and don’t feel good after an hour or two. Dress comfy and appropriate for the weather and occasion. Also, don’t be afraid to take a day to do nothing every once in a while. Travel is exhausting, you will burn out going 12-hours a day for a week straight. Listen to your body when it’s time to take a break. Treat yourself to a little couch time and some Netflix!
